NYPD: Suspect Sought For Slashing Woman In The Face

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for a suspect who they said slashed a woman in the face in Manhattan.

It happened back on Jan. 31 inside a building near the intersection of Jefferson Street and Madison Street on the Lower East Side.

Police said the suspect walked up to a 30-year-old woman and, unprovoked, cut the right side of her face with a sharp object. The woman yelled and the suspect took off, police said.

The victim was taken to Beth Israel Hospital where she was treated and released.

Police have released a sketch of the suspect.
