NYPD: Man Wanted For 7 Bank Robberies In 3 Boroughs
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are searching for man who they said held up seven banks in three different boroughs.
The suspect is wanted in connection with a series of bank robberies in Manhattan, the Bronx and Queens between Jan. 25 and March 10, police said.
In each incident, the suspect walks into a bank and demands money from the teller, police said.
The spree began around 11 a.m. on Jan. 25 when the suspect demanded money from a teller at a Chase Bank at 101 Barclay Street and then ran off with an unspecified amount of cash, police said.
On March 8, the suspect first robbed the Chase Bank at 69 Fifth Avenue and then held up the Citibank at 79 Fifth Avenue three minutes later, but left empty-handed, police said.
In the most recent incident, police said the suspect robbed the Flushing Savings Bank on Roosevelt Avenue in Queens around 10 a.m. on March 10.
No injuries were reported in any of the incidents.
The suspect is described as a black male, about 25 years old, standing about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds.
