NYPD Investigating Hudson River Death As Homicide

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Police say they've opened a homicide investigation into the death of a man whose body was found in the Hudson River.

The NYPD said on Saturday that the unidentified man had sustained a head injury.

The man was discovered unconscious and unresponsive by police officers around 7 p.m. Thursday near Pier 51 off West 12th Street.

He was declared dead at the scene. No arrests have been made.
