NYPD: 3 men stabbed or slashed outside Standard, High Line hotel in Lower Manhattan

Police investigating stabbing outside Lower Manhattan nightclub

NEW YORK -- Police are investigating a stabbing outside a Manhattan nightclub that sent three men to the hospital early Saturday.

It was a bloody morning outside The Standard, High Line hotel in the Meatpacking District, CBS2's Christina Fan reported.

Police said three men in their 20s were either stabbed or slashed after getting into an argument with nightclub security.

Detectives spent the morning canvassing the entrance area and taking pictures. They appeared to find a small knife used in the attack.

The three victims were intoxicated while trying to enter Le Bain on Washington Street, police said.

Security told the men they could not enter the club through the hotel and directed them to leave, but the men came back using the wrong entrance again and a dispute ensued, leading to the stabbings, police said.

But friends of the injured men told a different story.

"We didn't do anything provocative. The thing is, Le Bain's authoritative and provocative bouncer just, hit, at some point hit our friend," one person said.

"You can't trust anyone in there. You'll be dancing with them, and then they'll be in the ambulance," another person said.

The men were taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.

So far, no arrests have been made.

The stabbing happened on the first weekend since New York City's COVID vaccine mandates were lifted at businesses like the nightclub.
