NYC's Best Soups, Curry To Warm Up This Winter

It's getting cold outside and the best way to warm up is with a bowl of soup. Here are five broths, soups, and curries that will help take the chill away. By Carly Petrone.

Exploring Lower Manhattan: Where To Eat, See And Play

Tapestry takes comfort food to a new level with their Indio Posole. This decadent soup is filled with layers of pork hominy, chile, saffron, pickled cabbage, kachumbari, chutney, and avocado. As if these flavors weren't enough to awaken your taste buds, try one of their many Indian-inspired cocktails like the "Sela" (tequila, saffron, turmeric, black pepper, lime, cayenne) or the "Kashmir Valley" (vodka, red pepper corn, lime, cucumber dill.) You won't be disappointed.

Flinders Lane

162 Avenue A
New York, NY 10009

If you're craving curry then make your way to Flinders Lane, where Chef Chris Rendell is whipping up a rich Coconut Curry Laksa ($19.) First, he makes laksa paste and sambal for a rich, flavorful, and fragrant broth that soaks up mounds of shrimp, crab meat, bean sprouts, tofu, and rice noodles. It's definitely a filling meal, but make sure to leave room for a tasty cocktail. Their "Spiced Carrot Margarita" with tequila, mezcal, chili, fresh carrot, cardamom and lime is a great choice, while the "Rosemary-Lavender G&T" cools off any residual heat from the curry in the soup.

Davio's Manhattan

447 Lexington Ave.
New York, NY 10017
212-661-4810

More: Best Steakhouses In NYC

Davio's Manhattan has created a ramen so good that it's only available on Sunday nights. From 5 p.m. – 10 p.m., guests can enjoy the Davio's Steakhouse Ramen Bowl, deliciously crafted with a 24-hour roasted bone marrow broth. Slurp up homemade ramen noodles and bite into prime beef sirloin, organic egg, green onions, basil, and organic mushrooms. It's also topped with shaved truffles for an added punch of flavor. Pair it with a nice red wine and cheers to another week ahead.
