NYC Woman Accused Of Attempting To Defraud New Hyde Park Bank
HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A Harlem woman was arrested over the weekend after trying to defraud a Long Island bank, police said.
Sabrina Spencer pleaded not guilty Sunday to attempted grand larceny, identity theft, possessing a forged instrument and resisting arrest, WCBS 880's Monica Miller reported.
Nassau County police say Spencer, 47, presented fake identification while attempting to withdraw money at a Bank of America branch in New Hyde Park on Saturday.
While the bank manager was verifying the identification, police say Spencer left the bank and hid in the rear of a nearby home. When officers approached her, she began "flailing her arms and kicking the officers," police said.
Spencer was held at $10,000 bond or $5,000 cash.
It wasn't immediately known if she had a lawyer.
