NYC Housing Court Judge Jerald Klein Dead At Age 66
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Judge Jerald "Jerry" Klein passed away this past Sunday.
He was 66.
Klein died of complications from a bone marrow transplant after battling leukemia for about a year.
He served as a housing court judge in Manhattan and the Bronx for 32 years and had a reputation for being fair and wise.
Judge Klein was respected by both tenants and landlords.
Klein was interviewed in 2012 by the New York State Courts Access to Justice Program and said that preservation of housing was one of the "selling points" for forming the Housing Court.
He was also a member of the 1010 WINS family as the spouse of former anchor Sandi Klein.
They were married for more than 40 years.
They have two sons, Matthew and Seth, as well as a granddaughter Ella.
He is also survived by his siblings David, Vicki and Hara.
