7/7 CBS2 Thursday Afternoon Weather Headlines
By Justin Lewis
We'll be stuck in a steamy air mass this afternoon. And while our highs will only be in the low 90s, it will feel more like 95-100° with the humidity. The other side of the story will be the pop-up thunderstorms.
While there's a very low-end chance we'll see any of them become severe, some could produce locally heavy downpours which could lead to flooding. That said, the NWS has issued a Flash Flood Watch for the city and some its suburbs through 6 p.m.
After some leftover showers and storms this evening, things will quiet down into the overnight. Expect temps to fall into the mid 70s by daybreak with the development of some patchy fog.
Tomorrow will be yet another hot one with heat indices running from 95-100°. And we're looking at a chance of showers and storms again, but mainly late in the day and evening.
The heat and humidity will persist right into Saturday where we're expecting one last 90° day. And with our cold front nearby, we're leaving in a chance of showers and t-storms yet again.
As for Sunday, we'll see a little relief in the heat and humidity with just a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms.
