Taking a look at who's hot and who's not on the local sports landscape:

THREE UP:

1. Geno Smith

The oft-criticized Jets quarterback has been named the team's starter (for now), at least according to offensive coordinator Chan Gailey. Whether or not it holds up remains to be seen, but it's good news if you're Geno, bad news depending on which Jets fan you ask.

2. Matt Harvey

He was rewarded for pitching eight scoreless innings with a no-decision on Monday night, but it's the fact that he continues to pitch well that has him on this list.

3. Young American Ranger Forwards

Derek Stepan has four points in the first three games of the Rangers' Eastern Conference finals series against Tampa Bay. Chris Kreider has three. J.T. Miller and Kevin Hayes have had their moments as well.

THREE DOWN:

1. Rangers

The same cannot be said of the Blueshirts as a collective unit. Their defense has been brutal over the past two games, surrendering a combined 12 goals in those contests. They're now down 2-1 in the series. And, if you've seen Rick Nash, please alert the authorities; there's a search party out looking for him.

2. Matt Harvey's Team

Meanwhile, the Mets are now a game out of first place in the NL East, having gone 10-15 since their 11-game winning streak.

3. Knicks At The Draft Lottery

As it turns out, the Knicks can't win at anything, whether it's basketball or the draft lottery. They'll pick fourth overall after having an abysmal season that would've ideally given them a top-three pick.
