Fire Rages At Vacant Health Care Facility In North Plainfield, NJ
NORTH PLAINFIELD (CBSNewYork) -- A massive fire broke out early Tuesday morning at a vacant health care facility in North Plainfield.
The fire was reported around 3:30 a.m. off Somerset Street. Images from the scene showed heavy flames and smoke pouring out the building.

Several towns have sent crews to assist in the blaze.
The building dates back to the 1800s and the facility once treated patients with tuberculosis. It has been closed down since its most recent use through the early 2000s.
No word on how it started and no injuries have been reported.
Due to significant smoke affecting our schools: SB, Harrison, NPMS, & NPHS will close at 9AM. EE, WE, and SS will continue the school day.

Stony Brook Elementary School, North Plainfield Middle School, North Plainfield High School and Harrison School are closed Tuesday because of the smoke from the fire.
They are expected to reopen Wednesday.
