#StayInLine Trends As Polling Delays Are Reported At Sites In North Carolina
DURHAM, N.C. (CBSNewYork) -- Voters hit the polls around the country on Tuesday, to pick the next President of the United States, but the day was not without problems.
As CBS News reported, advocacy groups said they were suing for an additional 90 minutes of voting in Durham County, North Carolina due to computer problems that caused a paper check-in process.
Presidential Results
In a news release, the Southern Coalition for Social Justice said it filed a lawsuit on behalf of Democracy North Carolina to request an emergency action from Wake County Superior Court to keep polls open.
The polling place issues drew so much attention that #StayInLine began trending on Twitter, as users urged voters in the area to remain on line to complete the voting process as issues were resolved.

The Durham County Board of Elections asked the state board to extend voting hours at the Bethesda Ruritan Club, CBS News reported. It was also looking into the possible extension of polling hours at other locations.
Computer problems also resulted in one precinct running out of authorization-to-vote forms for about 90 minutes.
