NJ TRANSIT Trains Running With Delays After Service Suspension
NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- NJ TRANSIT trains are running again with delays after service was suspended between New York City and Newark because Amtrak's Portal Bridge was stuck in the open position.
Amtrak was able to close the bridge around 2 p.m., but North East Corridor, North Jersey Coast Line and MidTown Direct trains are still subject to 30 to 60 minute delays.
During the service suspension, NJ TRANSIT said MidTown Direct trains were being diverted to Hoboken.
Train passes were also being cross-honored for customers who want to take PATH trains to New York from Hoboken and Newark and for NJ TRANSIT buses to New York.
