NJ TRANSIT service disrupted during Wednesday evening rush hour
SECAUCUS, N.J. - Rail service at Penn Station resumed Wednesday evening after NJ TRANSIT and Amtrak trains were suspended during the evening rush.
There were still some lingering delays into the night.
This all stems from police activity that happened around 6 p.m. in Secaucus Junction.
Amtrak was investigating possible teens on the tracks, but no one was found.
Riders were forced to wait it all out.
"The bus would take, like, super long to get home, and the PATH train doesn't go to Hamilton, so I wouldn't be able to get home except for here," Hamilton Township resident Jada Nelson said.
"We're trying to head back to Cranford and Elizabeth and coming back from a doctor's appointment in the city, and this delay has been unbelievable. We've been sitting on these stairs for, like, two hours now," Cranford resident Dorothy Dimmerling said.
NJ TRANSIT rail tickets and passes were being cross-honored by NJ TRANSIT bus and PATH trains.
