NJ TRANSIT Trains Running Again Following Suspension On Multiple Lines

KEARNY, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Service has resumed with delays on multiple NJ TRANSIT lines that were suspended Thursday morning due to fire department activity near the Portal Bridge.

Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast line, Raritan Valley line and MidTown direct trains are running again between New York City and Newark Penn Station with delays up to 45 minutes in both directions.

MidTown Direct service has also resumed in and out of New York Penn Station. Earlier, trains were being diverted to Hoboken.

Rail tickets and passes are still being cross-honored with NJT bus, private carriers, and with PATH at Newark, Hoboken, and 33rd Street in New York.
