United Flight Returns To Gate At Newark Airport After Report Of Smoke
NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A flight from Newark to Boston was forced to return to the gate after reports of smoke coming from an engine.
It happened just before 7 a.m. Tuesday as United Flight 1550 was preparing for takeoff, United spokeswoman Mary Clark said.
The Boeing 737, which was carrying 147 passengers and crew, was removed from service for a maintenance inspection, Clark said.
No one was hurt.
United substituted another aircraft for the flight to Boston.
