2 Firefighters Hurt Battling Fire Near Train Tracks In Newark
NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Two firefighters were rushed to the hospital after a two-alarm fire broke out in a warehouse near Amtrak-owned train tracks Saturday morning in Newark, New Jersey.
The Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coast lines were briefly suspended in both directions between Newark Airport and Penn Station New York, according to the transit agency.
NEC and NJCL suspended both directions between Newark Airport and PSNY and RVL suspended between Cranford and Newark Penn all due to fire department activity near Newark. NJT Bus and private carriers will cross honor. PATH cross honoring @ 33rd, HOB and NWK.

Additionally, the Raritan Valley Line was suspended between Cranford and Newark Penn Station due to the response to the blaze.
NJ TRANSIT riders took to Twitter to post video of the flames, which broke out in a three-story vacant warehouse close to the tracks approaching Newark Penn Station around 10 a.m.
Service resumed just before noon and was back to normal by 5 p.m., according to the transit agency.
Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast Line and Raritan Valley Line train service is now operating on or close to schedule with residual delays to trains still en route following earlier Fire Department activity near Newark.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said the fire had no impact on flight operations at Newark Liberty International Airport.
There is no impact to flight operations at #EWRairport due to smoke from a nearby warehouse fire.

Two Newark firefighters were taken to University Hospital with minor injuries.
