FAA: Plane's wing clipped other plane at Newark, no injuries

NEWARK, N.J. -- There was an accident involving two airplanes at Newark Liberty International Airport on Friday.

United Airlines says two of its planes made contact on the tarmac before departing around 8:30 p.m.

The FAA said Saturday that one of the planes was being towed from a gate when its wing clipped another plane that was parked.

The Port Authority Police Department Aircraft Rescue Firefighter Unit responded, made the scene safe and investigated.

Passengers were put on new flights, and no one was hurt.
