Gas Prices Climb To Highest Level In 3 Years

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- It's going to cost you more to hit the road.

Gas prices have climbed to the highest level in three years, up 14% in just the last month.

Right now, regular unleaded gas costs on average $2.91 a gallon in New York.

New Jersey drivers are paying about $2.94 a gallon, while in Connecticut, the price averages $2.90.

Overall, prices are 40-50 cents higher than this time last year.
