Jets Sign Former 49ers Offensive Lineman Luke Marquardt

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — The New York Jets have signed offensive tackle Luke Marquardt, adding depth to their front line.

Marquardt was signed by San Francisco as an undrafted free agent out of Azusa Pacific in 2013, but has never appeared in an NFL regular-season game. He missed his senior season of college with a foot injury and then spent his rookie year with the 49ers on the non-football injury list.

The 6-foot-8, 315-pound lineman was released by San Francisco in May 2014 after injuring his foot again.

Marquardt played basketball at Skyline High School in Washington, but moved to football in college where he started as a tight end before moving to the offensive line.
