3 Teens Arrested After Large Crowd Causes Disruption At New Rochelle Amusement Center

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- It was chaos inside a popular amusement park.

Police were called in Saturday night after a huge fight broke out at New Roc City, and then spilled out onto the street. Several teens wound up behind bars, CBS2's Reena Roy reported.

As dozens ran through the streets and a uniformed officer put a teen in a headlock, several were arrested. It was pure chaos on Saturday night.

Police would not confirm anybody was tased, but a witness told Roy he saw and heard it.

"Some shouting broke out. Police moved in to make a couple arrests and a taser sound was made and that sent everybody into a frenzy running and there were running battles, different confrontations," Robert Cox said.

Police said the fight started inside Sky Zone Trampoline Park at around 11 p.m., quickly moving outside where the violence continued.

"People making threats, pushing and shoving, and it just kept rolling on," Cox said.

Cox, a local blogger, captured it all on camera.

"Somebody actually threw a metal object like a paint can right over my head, so it was pretty intense, pretty frightening," Cox said.

It's an area that's so rowdy, neighbors have a special name for it.

"I've nicknamed it 'Fight Zone,' Because, like I said, every weekend it's a fight," one person said.

Parents said they are now nervous to bring their children.

"There shouldn't be any place to let kids fight like that with everything that happened recently at high school is very worrying," New Rochelle's Vinha Trinh said.

"It makes you feel uncomfortable of course," another person said.

Police told CBS2's Roy three were arrested for disorderly conduct. A juvenile was also taken into custody before being released to his or her parents. The Sky Zone Trampoline Park manager would not comment.

Police have identified the suspects as 18-year-old Jahmeela Russell, and 17-year-olds Tsaia Chung and Justin Smiley. All of them are from Mount Vernon. A 15-year-old from Harlem was also taken into custody and released, Roy reported.
