New ferry service from Bay Ridge, Brooklyn to Manhattan

NEW YORK - Ferry riders now have a faster commute from Brooklyn to Lower Manhattan

The new ferry route travels from Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, to Wall Street. 

The New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) launched the new service for faster connections on weekday mornings.

It will cast off from Bay Ridge, then make stops along Atlantic Avenue and Pier 6 in Brookyn Bridge Park before heading into Manhattan.

Mayor Eric Adams and other city officials took a ride on the new South Brooklyn Express ferry Wednesday morning.

"It's a great day for South Brooklyn commuters. This cuts 30 minutes out of their commute time, getting them from here to Pier 11, to jobs," NYCEDC President and CEO Andrew Kimball said.

The new service is part of the city's Ferry Forward Plan announced last summer.
