Interview: January Is National Blood Donor Month
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- If one of your New Year's resolutions is to give back or donate this year, the American Red Cross is encouraging people to roll up their sleeves and give blood.
In fact, January is National Blood Donor Month.
Beth Toll, external communications manager of the American Red Cross, stopped by the CBS2 studios to talk about the organization's needs.
"Every two seconds, someone needs blood, and the Red Cross has to collect about 14,000 pints of blood each day in order to meet the needs of our hospitals," Toll told CBS2's Andrea Grymes.
