Man Convicted In 2013 Shooting That Killed 3 At Irvington, N.J. Go-Go Club

NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A jury on Tuesday convicted a man of the fatal Christmas Day 2013 shooting of three people at a go-go bar in Irvington, New Jersey.

Anthony Fields, 22, of Newark, was convicted in a shooting that killed three people and wounded two others at Slick's, at Nye Avenue and 21st Street in Irvington, according to the Essex County Prosecutor's office.

Fields was convicted of murdering Woodley Daniel, 32, the bouncer at the club, prosecutors said. He was also convicted of aggravated manslaughter in the deaths of Pierre Clervoyant, 34 – the son of the club's owner and a manager at the club – and Mushir Cuerton, 27, prosecutors said.

Essex County Assistant Prosecutor Purva Deshpande alleged that Fields opened fire on the bouncer and other employees and patrons outside the club at 12:30 a.m. Dec. 25, 2013. They had just exited the club after a disturbance at the door, Deshpande said.

Fields was also convicted of aggravated assault for shooting and wounding a 34-year-old man and a 27-year-old man, prosecutors said. He was also found guilty of weapons offenses, prosecutros said.

Fields fled the state after the shooting and was arrested at his mother's home in Orlando, Florida in January 2014, prosecutors said.

He faces life in prison when he is sentenced on Feb. 27.
