Commuter Alert: MTA Toll Hikes At Major Crossings Start This Weekend

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Toll hikes at major crossings including the Verrazzano Bridge, RFK Bridge and Queens-Midtown Tunnel go into effect Sunday, April 11.

The E-ZPass rates will rise from $6.12 to $6.55.

Tolls-by-Mail will jump from $9.50 to $10.17.

Drivers with an E-ZPass that does not scan will no longer be charged the lowest rate when the MTA confirms their account.

Instead, they'll have to pay a mid-tier rate of $8.36.
