MTA Boast Major Service Improvements, On-Time 4 Times Out Of 5
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Commuters may not agree, but the MTA says there have been major service improvements.
Transit officials say subways were on-time in April nearly 80 percent of the time, the best it's been in more than five years.
The weekday trains saw a 35 percent decrease in delays, compared to last April.
The agency says reducing track fires from debris is a major factor.
The MTA says there have been 81 incidents this year, compared to 133 at this point in 2018.
