NYPD: Suspects pointed gun at mother, 3-year-old son, stole family's SUV in Bronx robbery

Police seek suspects accused of stealing Bronx family's SUV

NEW YORK -- Police are looking for two men accused of threatening a mother and child at gunpoint then stealing the family's SUV.

Officers said Maxie Feliz was leaving her apartment near Sedgewick Avenue and West Kingsbridge Road in the Bronx to take her son to school Wednesday morning when, out of nowhere, they were threatened and robbed.

Feliz, 35, and her 3-year-old son, who has autism, were not physically hurt, according to police. But she's terrified the men who threatened her and her son will return if they're not caught soon, CBS2's Natalie Duddridge reported Thursday.

"It's too much for me and my baby. It's my first time in this situation," Feliz said. "I don't know what happened with the guys."

Investigators are looking for two men pictured standing next to the white SUV. One man in the surveillance picture was holding a child's car seat.

Officers said the suspects approached Feliz and her son inside the lobby of the apartment building. One man pointed a gun at her waist. The other man aimed a gun at the boy's head.

"In my stomach and at my baby, and put on their hands on my mouth," Feliz said.

The suspects demanded their belongings and stole an iPhone, a wallet containing $1,500 cash and Feliz's car keys, which they used to get away in her Range Rover, police said.

Feliz said her SUV was parked several blocks away from the apartment. She believes the suspects found it by pressing a button the key fob to sound the horn.

Police were able to track down the stolen SUV using its built-in GPS, but Feliz said she's scared to drive it. She believes she could be targeted again.

Police were checking the vehicle for fingerprints.

Anyone with information about the suspects is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). You can also submit a tip via their website or via DM on Twitter, @NYPDTips. All calls are kept confidential.
