As of Saturday morning, hundreds of employees were still removing snow and ice from station stairways and platforms.

The Metro-North Railroad and the Long Island Rail Road had also resumed normal service as of Saturday morning.

The LIRR will keep waiting rooms open all weekend to protect customers from the bitter cold.
