Missing Rockland County Father Found Dead In Harriman State Park

STONY POINT, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- The body of a father of seven who had been missing for nine days has been found in Harriman State Park by a hiker.

Peretz Sontag, 50, was last seen leaving his Pomona home on March 14.

His body was discovered in his car Sunday after it apparently went over a ravine, the Journal News reported.

Rockland County Legislator Aron Wieder said Sontag's body was found near Lake Welch Road after the family had asked searchers to comb the area again.

Wieder said authorities don't expect foul play in Sontag's death.
