Southold's police chief said Costello and her daughter were seen March 30 when a security camera recorded the mother and daughter leaving a Times Square parking garage.

Police said there is no need for further investigation, WCBS 880 Long Island Bureau Chief Mike Xirinachs.

Relatives said Iona planned to take her daughter to a show, but on April 4, Emily didn't show up to school following spring break.

A day later, family members filed a missing persons report.

The Costello family is well known in Greenport, where they own a marine contracting business. They also own a farm with horses and other animals.

A relative told CBS2's Matt Kozar that Iona had family troubles. She said Iona's husband, George, died two years ago and children from a previous marriage were contesting his will.

The case has been tied up in the courts for two years, Kozar reported.
