Francesa: What Was The Point Of Kobe Bryant's 60-Point Sendoff?
NEW YORK (WFAN) -- Mike Francesa doesn't agree with the hoopla surrounding Kobe Bryant's 60-point going-away party Wednesday night.
The performance, which included the retiring Lakers superstar taking 50 shots in a win over the Utah Jazz, was a hot topic on Francesa's WFAN show Thursday.
MIKE-I-MATION: Don't Call LeBron 'LBJ'
"I heard people say it was very important they won the game," Francesa said. "If it was very important that they won the game, how came they won 17 games this year? How come the team, it wasn't important for them to win a game all year, but it was important for them to win the last game?
"I don't know what the point was for that last night. I don't know why we needed the show. I'm not trying to make a big deal one way or the other, but what was the point of him scoring so many points last night? What was the message?"
