Woman Hit, Critically Injured By Cab In Midtown
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A woman was struck and injured by a taxi Saturday afternoon at the busy intersection of 57th Street and Eighth Avenue in Midtown.
First responders were called to the intersection at 5:34 p.m. after the 20-year-old woman was struck as she crossed the street in the crosswalk, police told CBS2.
The woman was taken to NewYork Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical Center, where she was in critical condition, police said.
Photos at the scene also indicated that a bank of pay phones was damaged in the accident.
The driver passed a Breathalyzer test at the scene, police said. No charges have been filed.
