Suspicious Device At Chase Bank In Midtown Ruled Not To Be Threat

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police were called out Monday night after a suspicious device was found at a bank in the heart of Midtown.

The device was later deemed not to be a threat.

Police told CBS2 the Emergency Services Unit and the Bomb Squad were sent out for a suspicious device at the Chase Bank at 44th Street and Sixth Avenue.

The Office of Emergency Management had advised that people should expect traffic delays and emergency personnel near the scene and should consider alternate routes.

By just before 10:30 p.m., the scene was clear and the device was ruled safe, police said.
