Woman, 76, Killed After Falling In Front Of Vehicle In Middle Village, Queens
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A 76-year-old woman was killed when she fell in front of a vehicle in Middle Village, Queens, police said.
Giovanna Livolsi, of Queens, was crossing at a light at 75th Street and Metropolitan Avenue Wednesday when she tripped and fell just as the light turned green.
Police said Livolsi was struck and run over by a vehicle that had been waiting at the light.
Police said the driver continued a short distance before being alerted to the accident and returned to the scene and called 911.
Livolsi was taken to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said.
