Golf Channel's Michael Breed On WFAN: There Were Warning Signs Before Spieth's Masters Collapse
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Jordan Spieth's Masters meltdown wasn't all that surprising to the Golf Channel's Michael Breed.
Breed told WFAN's Mike Francesa on Monday that there were warning signs that were realized Sunday when Spieth took eight shots on the par-3 12th hole.
"I think 12, candidly, Mike, was something that was going to happen, whether it happened at 12 or 13 or 15, whatever," Breed said. "If you look back at what Jordan had been battling for the last two weeks, he had been missing it to the right.
"And if you look at what he did this week, he made 15 birdies. That's true. But he also made three double bogeys. No major champion at Augusta National had ever made more than one double bogey, let alone three. And you knew it was going to happen at some point."
