Woman Struck, Killed By Metro-North Train In Greenwich, Connecticut

GREENWICH, Conn. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A 28-year-old Connecticut woman was killed by a Metro-North Railroad train in Connecticut Friday, the railroad said.

A spokeswoman for the commuter railroad says the unidentified woman was struck Friday morning near the Cos Cob station in Greenwich, by an eastbound train heading to New Haven from Grand Central Terminal.

She was trying to retrieve a wallet or handbag from the tracks at the time, officials said.

Rail service was delayed by 30 to 40 minutes. Passengers were transferred to another train.
