Winning $540 Million Mega Millions Lottery Ticket Purchased In Indiana, Officials Say

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- One lucky person matched all the numbers to win the $540 million Mega Millions jackpot.

The winning ticket for Friday's drawing was sold at a Speedway station along Interstate 70 in Cambridge City, a town of about 2,000 residents 50 miles east of Indianapolis.

Town Council President Mark McCarty says if the winner is a local, it won't take long for word to spread about who it is.

Cambridge City Chamber of Commerce President Beth Leisure says she's "happy for whoever it is," even if the winner isn't from the town known for its antique stores.

Robert Williams, who works at the town's National Road Antique Mall, says customers are excited and "everybody's wondering who it is."

But there are other prize amounts to win.

The winning numbers are: 8, 19, 20, 55, 73 and Mega Ball 5.

Friday's drawing was the 35th since Mega Millions had a winner — the longest rollover stretch in the game's history.

Tickets are sold in 43 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
