Condemned Building Partially Collapses In Hell's Kitchen

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – A condemned, abandoned building partially collapsed Sunday in Hell's Kitchen.

No one was hurt, but West 52nd Street was closed between Eighth and Ninth avenues.

Last week, the Department of Buildings said the abandoned building was "unsafe" and had the "potential of collapse."

The city was in the process of having it demolished.

The DOB also ordered two neighboring businesses – Therapy gay bar and Stiles Farmers Market – to vacate the premises, because they sat "within the collapse zone."
