Police: Suspect Held Up Three Banks In Manhattan In A Half-Hour
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are on the hunt for a suspect who they said is behind three bank robberies in Manhattan.
The NYPD said in each case the suspect arrived at the location on a bicycle and displayed a note demanding cash.
The robberies took place between 9:30 and 10 a.m. at the Chase Bank at 225 Fifth Ave., the Chase Bank at 386 Park Ave., and the Ponce DeLeon Bank at 319 1st Ave. on Sept. 10, police said.
The suspect got away with $1,000 in cash from Ponce DeLeon Bank, but fled without any money from the two Chase Banks, authorities said.
Police described the suspect as a light-skinned male, about 5'7" tall, with a thin build and pointy nose. The suspect is believed to be in his mid-30s and has a tattoo on his left ankle and on his right calf.
