Suspect In Custody After Man Stabbed In Washington Heights
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A suspect is in custody after police said a man was stabbed in Washington Heights early Thursday morning.
It happened just before 5:30 a.m. outside the El Capri restaurant on Saint Nicholas Avenue at West 177th Street.
Police said a 39-year-old man was stabbed multiple times after getting into a fight with the suspect, a 37-year-old man, CBS2's Andrea Grymes reported.
Witnesses said they saw the bloody victim go inside the restaurant. He was then taken to Harlem Hospital in critical condition.
The suspect was caught nearby on West 177th Street and a weapon was recovered, Grymes reported.
It's still unclear what sparked the fight.
The investigation is ongoing.
