Man killed, 2 wounded in Queens shooting
NEW YORK -- A 38-year-old man is dead and two others are in the hospital after a triple shooting Sunday morning in Queens.
Video shows a man with a rifle walk into a parking lot on Desarc Road right off Cross Bay Boulevard in Ozone Park and fire multiple shots. It happened just after 5 a.m.
"At 5:07 a.m., we heard 15 shots," Ozone Park resident Kaled Alamarie said.
"I hear the noise ... That go pow, pow, pow, so I look by the window and I see a lot of people running," neighbor Jon Calderon told CBS2's Lisa Rozner.
Exclusive video from a security camera on Desarc Road shows the gunman, wearing a hoodie, running off with the gun in hand.
Police say 38-year-old Francis Raymond, of Queens, was killed in the shooting, and two 32-year-old men were injured and taken to a local hospital. It's not clear if they were targeted by the suspect with the rifle.
"I don't know how they get these things on the streets. That's insane," Howard Beach resident Nicole Rose said.
"This is an ongoing problem. We've reported it many times," Alamarie said. "This is the third time. About six months ago, someone got shot."
Neighbors say there have been numerous problems related to the Liquid Event Hall. CBS2 called the number on the sign. The person who answered says he doesn't own the business anymore. We also emailed the company but didn't hear back.
"This is all, every time they make a party here, the same thing. The same thing," Calderon said.
"It's always coming from this nightclub?" Rozner asked.
"Yeah ... The neighborhood, we have to do something about that because we got children living around here," Calderon said.
Police on Sunday could not confirm any previous incidents related to the event space.
It's not clear if the suspect in the shooting has been identified. The NYPD says there are no arrests, and the investigation is ongoing.
