Man Hit, Killed By Q Train In Astoria, Queens

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man was struck and killed Friday evening by an elevated subway train in Astoria, Queens.

Around 6:55 p.m., the man was hit by an outbound Q Train at the Broadway station in Astoria, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority told CBS2.

It was not immediately learned how the man got onto the tracks.

Further information on the victim was not immediately available.

Outbound N and Q trains were being turned inbound at 57th Street-Seventh Avenue in Midtown or at Queensboro Plaza, and all N and Q service was suspended between Queensboro Plaza and Astoria-Ditmars Boulevard, the MTA said.

Customers were advised to use the Q102 or Q69 buses as alternatives.
