Man Accused Of Burglarizing House Of Worship In Coram, L.I.
CORAM, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A man was arrested on Long Island Tuesday and charged with burglarizing a house of worship earlier this month.
A suspect walked into the Chabad House of Coram, at 87 Mt. Sinai Coram Rd. in Coram, Suffolk County police said. He stole coins, police said.
The incident was caught on surveillance video, police said.
Suffolk County Patrol Officer Greg Hasemann responded to the scene and told Sixth Squad detectives he believed Christopher Loeb was the suspect, police said.
Hasemann searched for the suspect on his daily patrols, and found him around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, police said. He was charged with the burglary, but his coins were not found.
Loeb, 31, who is homeless, was charged with third-degree burglary, police said.
He was set to be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Central Islip.
