Man, 75, Arrested With Sons On Drug, Weapons Charges In Huntington Station
HUNTINGTON STATION, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A 75-year-old man and his two sons were arrested on weapons and drug charges on Long Island Thursday, after a search warrant was executed at their home.
Detectives from multiple divisions of the Suffolk County Police Department executed the warrant at a home on Eleventh Avenue in Huntington Station around 6 a.m. Tuesday, police said.
They allegedly found a loaded and defaced Tec-9 semiautomatic handgun with a-large capacity magazine, along with two other loaded handguns, an imitation pistol, a bulletproof vest, and more than 500 rounds of ammunition.
They also allegedly found crack cocaine and marijuana with a combined street value of about $3,000, as well as $3,700 in cash, digital scales, and drug packaging equipment, police said.
Tracy Watkins, 42, who was described as a member of the South Side Posse gang, was arrested – along with his brother, Zachary Watkins Sr., 46, police said. They were charged with criminal possession of a weapon, a controlled substance, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
Similar charges were also brought against their father, Zachary Watkins Sr., 75, police said.
Officials from Huntington Town Code Enforcement also issued 32 violations for code infractions to Watkins Sr., police said.
The men were to be arraigned at Suffolk County First District Court in Central Islip on Friday.
