Major Crack Prompts Evacuation Of Brooklyn Apartment Building
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A crack from the basement to the roof prompted the evacuation of a Brooklyn apartment building Monday afternoon.
The jagged crack was seen in the back of the building at 3405 Kings Highway in Brooklyn, CBS 2's Joe Biermann reported from Chopper 2.
Everyone was evacuated from the building around 3:40 p.m. Some were seen coming out with luggage in hand, Biermann reported.
A construction site is located right next to the building where the crack developed, Biermann reported. It was not immediately learned whether there was a connection.
The FDNY and the Office of Emergency Management remained on the scene late Monday afternoon.
