Man Falls From Lower East Side Balcony, Dies
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A 28-year-old man died Sunday morning after falling from a balcony on the Lower East Side, police said.
The incident happened around 2:30 a.m. at 38 Delancey St.
The man was attending a small party at an apartment in the building, 1010 WINS' Roger Stern reported. According to building security, he sat on a railing facing the building and fell backward, landing on another balcony two stories below and striking his head on the floor. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A security guard said the victim appeared to be drunk when he arrived at the building -- so much so that security warned the host.
"We opened the door. He came in, walking wobbly," security supervisor Christian Rivera told Stern.
