Decals Installed On Glass Sky Bridge At Liberty Park's World Trade Center Campus In Effort To Prevent Bird Deaths
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Port Authority is installing bird-friendly decals on the glass sky bridge in Liberty Park's World Trade Center campus in an effort to prevent bird deaths.
Clear glass confuses birds, making them think they can fly through it.
That results in hundreds of thousands of birds crashing into the class and dying.
A new law that went into effect this year in the city requires new construction to use bird-friendly materials.
