"We were immediately escorted off of the Hofstra campus after the press conference just now and told not to do any more press," she said.
According to USA Today, their reporter Eliza Collins spotted Stein boarding the media bus. Law enforcement officials sought out Stein because she was not credentialed for the debate.
Stein said that police ended up putting her in a van which was stopped twice.
In an interview with CBS News, Stein said she is going to try to get into the debate.
"We are determined to get the word out. We will try to get into the debate. I don't have high expectations we're going to be allowed in," Stein said.
Stein added that it's a "two-party tyranny."
"I felt confirmed in my expectations that the Commission on Presidential Debates would continue to serve the Democratic and Republican parties – that's who founded it, that's who runs it, and it exists really for the purpose of eliminating political opposition. That is two-party tyranny, that is not democracy," the Green Party candidate said.
Stein and Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson polled too low to qualify to participate in Monday night's debate.
