JetBlue says thousands more jobs coming to NYC
NEW YORK -- JetBlue says it's doubling down on its commitment to New York City.
Mayor Eric Adams joined the company's CEO and other elected officials Monday at John F. Kennedy International Airport to announce 5,000 new jobs.
"You are the ambassadors for New York City to help our economic recovery," Adams said. "Thank you JetBlue for these 5,000 new jobs, for your expansion, for your investment, for your belief in the greatest city on the planet."
JetBlue said it will break ground on an expansion of Terminal 5 at Kennedy Airport and add more daily flight to or through the city.
Adams said JetBlue's expansion will help revive the city's $72 billion tourism industry.
