DeGrom Goes 3 Innings In Spring Debut As Mets, Yankees Tie

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBSNewYork/AP)Jacob deGrom allowed one run in three innings in his spring debut for the Mets, who tied the Yankees 4-4 in 10 innings on Wednesday.

DeGrom allowed five hits, struck out two and walked none.

Curtis Granderson, who missed the first week of games because of an eye problem, got two hits and scored for the Mets. Yoenis Cespedes also had two hits and drove in his third run of the spring.

Dustin Ackley got two hits for the Yankees. Aaron Hicks grounded a double that scattered Yankees pitchers sitting on bench down the right field line.

Yankees starter Ivan Nova pitched three scoreless innings. He allowed three hits, struck out one, walked one and induced a pair of double-play grounders.

The Mets will face the St. Louis Cardinals at 1:05 p.m. Thursday. The Yankees will play split-squad games against the Baltimore Orioles and Toronto Blue Jays on Thursday.
