Islanders Acquire Shane Prince From Senators On NHL Trade Deadline Day

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The New York Islanders made a couple of deals Monday as the NHL trade deadline wrapped up.

The Islanders acquired winger Shane Prince, 23, and a seventh-round pick in the 2016 draft from the Ottawa Senators for the team's 2016 third-round pick. The Isles also shipped forward Taylor Beck to the Colorado Avalanche for forward Marc-Andre Cliché.

In 42 games with the Senators this season, Prince – a former 2011 second round pick – had three goals and nine assists. During the 2014-15 AHL season, he led the Binghamton Senators in scoring with 65 points.

"It seems to be a great opportunity to make an impact," Prince, a Rochester native, told TSN. "It's kind of cool I'm back in my home state."

Cliché had three goals and 11 assists over 150 games with the Avalanche.
